1.Choose one specific action, intervention, policy or programme that claims to make a significant contribution to a more sustainable food system.
The intervention can be from state or non-state actors
It can be in one or more countries, local or international
Clear results must have been reported and, ideally, some critical (independent) commentary should be available
Don’t chose a proposed intervention that has yet to yield any results, or an intervention reported only by the initiator (e.g. company or organisation)
Critically assess the claims and the achievements of the intervention, using the sustainable food system framework, clearly referring to social, economic and environmental dimensions.
Briefly describe the intervention
Set out clearly what criteria you are using to judge the achievements of the intervention.
Identify and use other appropriate cases that can be compared to your selected case.
Provide your critical assessment, based on appropriate sources – this should be the main element in your paper.
Use a variety of sources that address the general background to your intervention and then the specifics; don’t rely on just one or two reports, or on company sources only.
Word count (exc. bibliography) 2,500 words (2,300-2,700 is acceptable)
Important - Read this before proceeding
