Final Project Assignment
Purpose: To compile a manuscript of creative work.
Your manuscript should include two main parts:
3-page introduction essay
10 pages of original creative work written in ENG 2451
Page 1: Title page formatted APA style. Write an interesting title for your manuscript.
Pages 2-4: An introduction essay in which you discuss what you have learned about short-short stories (or short stories), short creative nonfiction, and poetry in ENG 2451.
Use the following outline to organize the introduction essay:
First Paragraph: Briefly discuss why you believe creating writing is important. Be specific by referring to class readings and your creative writing you have included in your final project manuscript.
Then, explain the connection between why you believe creative writing is important and the original creative writing you have included in your final project manuscript.
Second Paragraph: Choose a short-story story or short story included in your final project manuscript and discuss how what you have learned about its genre in ENG 2451 has influenced your writing of the short-short or short story. Refer to specific paragraphs and sentences in your work to illustrate your ideas. Use at least one brief quote from the work.
Third Paragraph: Choose a piece of short creative nonfiction included in your manuscript and discuss how what you have learned about short creative nonfiction in ENG 2451 influenced your writing of the piece. Refer to specific paragraphs and sentences in your work to illustrate your ideas. Use at least one brief quote from the work.
Fourth Paragraph: Choose a poem included in your manuscript and discuss how what you have learned about poetry in ENG 2451 has influenced your writing of the poem. Refer to specific stanzas and lines in your work to illustrate your ideas. Use at least one brief quote from the work.
