By this point, you should have an increased understanding of nursing theory especially in relation to grand theories, conceptual models, and the language we use to discuss things theoretically. Our course focus the past several weeks on middle range theories has introduced you to theories that are “specific to practice outcomes and specify characteristics of nursing situations” (Alligood, 2014, p. 537). This week’s discussion board is designed to help you apply theory to practice.
Select and read one article that uses a middle range level theory as its framework.
Review and select one of the three (3) case studies attached to the link just above this.
Identify a clinical problem for your selected case you think is the most emergent; select a middle range theory to use as a framework for the problem you identified. This should be the theory that your selected article uses.
Describe how you would implement the selected theory in the scenario – your posting must indicate you understand how to integrate the identified theory into the practice setting and include the article you selected above as one of your citations
