There is a continued debate in two areas. The first area of debate is around the driving force behind remodeling, and the second is about the mechanism by which mechanical data is transferred to bone cells to produce remodeling. There are non-agreed-upon hypotheses for both.
Chosen topic is (“This research will explore whether Wolff’s Law is influenced by the mechanical forces of running, specifically investigating if fatigue-induced micro-cracks and increased strain rates during running play a role in bone remodeling and changes in bone mass, or if running affects the application and relevance of Wolff’s Law through these mechanisms.”)
Assignment: Please choose from the above topics and write a report to consider the different approaches to the mechanisms involved in Wolff’s Law, including rationale used for considering the approach and what leads other researchers to not believe that the approach is valid.
You report should be a minimum of 10 pages. Use a font size of 12, Calibri or Arial, and double spacing. Do not add lines between sections. You may include images, but if they take up substantial space, you must make your page count larger to compensate. The abstract (not required), table of contents (not required), and references (required), are not to be counted toward minimum number of pages.
Section headings should be as follows:
• Introduction: What goals will you accomplish in this report?
• Methods: How did you approach finding information on your topic? What sources (such as Google Scholar through WSU) did you use? What did you search on? How did you narrow your results (choice in documents to use)? Be succinct and brief enough that you leave space for the main contents of the report. If you use WarriorGPT, you must include a separate document, as stated below. No other types of AI are allowed, and you will fail this assignment if I assess that you used another type of AI.
• Results: From each article, list the supporting and non-supporting items that you will use for your discussion. Do this in a logical way, such as organizing by supporting first and then non-supporting, or something else that makes sense. Your organization should always be intentional and meaningful.
• Discussion: Integrate the findings from the Results section. Write how the findings relate to each other. This integration is an important portion of your report.
• Conclusion: In a single paragraph, succinctly summarize what you were looking for and what you found. This should be brief and not a discussion.
