Consider the following business requirements for the financial auditing company E&A.
Each employee is specified by the following data: first name, last name, telephone, email address, and hourly rate charged.
Each employee belongs to one department. The department is specified by the name of the department, the manager of the department, and the number of employees. Each department has only one manager assigned from one of the employees.
The company has many projects. The starting and ending dates must be kept along with the budget of the project and the budget spent so far.
For each project, there are zero or several assignments. Each employee may be involved in many assignments, although there are employees who are not assigned to any assignment yet. The assignment data needed are the employees involved and the hours spent for each employee, the cost of the assignment, and the completion percentage.
Walk through some of the design elements you might use to create a database to store this data. Include items such as primary key, entities, tables, and the like.
