Explore the Family Systems Theory: Explore the scholarly research on Family Systems Theory and describe the main concepts of the theory. One aspect of Family Systems Theory involves looking at what is happening within the family system, rather than focusing on the individual problems of family members. Students will look at the Family Systems Assessment and Family Subsystems Assessment as ways to better understand a family’s functioning. Students will then describe how these assessments can help a social worker work within a family to help them improve their functioning. Students will use at least 4 scholarly resources for the basis of outlining the Family Systems Theory.
