The Module Discussion will require you to evaluate resources, think critically, communicate effectively, and engage in active dialog with your peers. Based on the Module Readings, Videos, and other instructional materials provided, you will respond to the following:
Identify the role of body-worn cameras in investigative law enforcement and recognize their limitations.
Read (or watch) the posted links and think about the important issues they present on the Module’s objectives. Please read/watch everything that is posted. As these are discussions, please do not wait until the last day (or hour) to post. The successful discussion requires back and forth communication, and time to think about responses.
Submit an original post that is at least 350 words long (this is a minimum, not a goal). You are to cite at least three separate sources in your response. You will not be able to read your classmates’ posts until after you post. You will need to post your first post by Friday night, so that your classmates will have time to respond to them by the Sunday night deadline.
Respond to (at the minimum) four of your classmate’s posts. Please do this early enough so that they might have time to respond to your comments. You may agree or disagree with or provide additional insight to the original post. Use evidence from the readings, links, or videos in your replies, but not restricted to those cited by the original poster (and you can bring in other outside material as well).
Respond to those who replied to your original post. When responding to replies to your original post, you must respond meaningfully (not just saying “thanks!” or similar) to receive the highest grades.
Feedback may be provided at the discretion of the Instructor via Canvas.
Remember that disagreements and critical thoughts are not rude or being unfriendly, it is a critical part of scientific thinking. Accepting and building from these criticisms are as well. As long as everyone is polite and using evidence to support your points, and not personal or derogatory commentary, these discussions will help strengthen your abilities to communicate in an academic setting.
