This assignment involves 3 tasks.
“File” – “Make a Copy” of, and fill out the Flash Fiction Brainstorming Sheet. On the sheet, you’ll choose a narrative point of view (you can review more about the narrative points of view here) and a theme.
After completing the Flash Fiction Brainstorming Sheet, you can begin writing the Good Copy. Write a 500 to 750-word maximum fictional short story. Read over and edit your story at least twice before submitting. You are welcome to send me your rough copies for feedback via email.
Write a one-paragraph (200-word) reflection on the following questions
How did you use story and writing elements like characters, plot events (exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution), setting, conflict, power dynamics, etc. to develop a theme in your story?
How might the creative writing process be a form of “power messaging”?
