This week, we have learned about a model of memory, the information processing model. In this model, memory is broken down into three steps: encoding, storage, and retrieval. In addition, we learned about another theory that the textbook did not mention by name, the memory systems perspective. In this perspective, memories are broken down into two categories, implicit and explicit.
After we review these theories in class and you have completed the reading of the chapter, consider what you have learned and reflect on strategies you have used in the past to remember things, such as items on a grocery list or information for a test.
